The specs and features, especially its stable and strong connectivity support will even allow using this laptop for providing online school education by teachers, Google Classroom, and remote learning.
The processor along with an efficient graphics card integrated in it, the adequate amount of RAM and a large and fast SSD will ensure that users have a fast, better, and more dependable machine at their disposal for everyday use.
This machine is quite light in eight and therefore you can use it on the go easily and conveniently. The keyboard, the large and responsive trackpad, the decent set of webcam and mics, and especially the larger screen and a fair audio system adds to the reliability of this laptop.
Most importantly, the affordable price of it adds to its value and utility thereby offering a higher price to performance ratio.

Asus VivoBook 17 Laptop Review
Buy for: Thin bezel, adequate connectivity options, lightweight and portable, affordable price.
Beware of: Screen quality, analog mics, size, combination in function buttons, average speakers.
Best uses for: Teachers and other purposes.
The ASUS VivoBook 17 laptop comes with a classic look with quite nice overall design but its build quality is relatively weak. The level of performance is satisfactory but has to make some serious improvements in the battery life.
Design and Build
The design of the ASUS VivoBook 17 laptop makes it pretty portable and the plastic case keeps its weight down to 4 pounds making it easy to carry in schools, tuition classes, and anywhere in between.
However, the plastic build makes it somewhat less durable in nature and therefore it needs to be handled with care and caution, especially by the students who use it in school or while travelling more often.
The light silver color case looks pretty decent and elegant with no textures or flimsy accents, though the steel color Asus logo with textures feels lost on the light-colored base of the lid.
While opening the lid, which is firmly held to the base of the laptop by a strong hinge, leads to a silver-colored keyboard and a large screen.
Depending on the specific model you choose, this hinge may also come with an ergo lift design to offer a better typing position.
The screen of this laptop measures 17.3 inches and the thin bezel around it makes it look even bigger.
The HD+ resolution of this screen is pretty decent for basic computing jobs done by home users, students, teachers, and small business owners.
It may also support playing a few basic games on it. It has an anti-glare panel and a refresh rate of just 60 Hz and supports 60% NTSC color gamut.
The chiclet keyboard of this system is quite large and comes with a separate numeric keypad.
The keys are quite good and durable enough to endure faster and multiple keystrokes. They have a decent travel distance and tactile feedback to allow faster typing on it.
However, make sure that you do not type in a poorly lit room or in darer corners of it because the keys do not come with backlights and therefore may affect your typing accuracy rate.
The trackpad, however, is large and pretty responsive to touches and multiple gestures.
It comes with no distinct left or right click buttons and is located a bit on the left of the palm rest, both of which may cause some inconvenience to a few users.
The ASUS VivoBook 17 laptop offers a varied range of configuration options in their laptop when it comes to processor.
You will get one with an AMD Ryzen 3 3200U processor with two cores, or one with an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with four cores as well.
This specific model however, comes with an AMD Ryzen 7 3700U processor with four cores and a 4 MB cache.
It can operate at a base clock frequency of 2.30 GHz which can be increased up to 4.00 GHz in max boost mode to process the data fast with a default TDP of 15 watts and advanced technologies like AMD Zen Core, FreeSync, SenseMI and DirectX 12.
Just as the processor, you will also get this laptop in a varied graphics configuration including AMD Radeon Vega 3 Graphics and AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics. However, the graphics card interface will be integrated and not dedicated.
This model comes with an AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 Graphics with no dedicated video memory but is good enough to support the AMD Ryzen processor with its efficient graphics performance.
However, it is adequately good to play some basic games and do some less graphics intensive tasks on the laptop.
With a new and improved Start Menu and other features like Mail, Microsoft Edge and more, operation will be as simple as it can be.
RAM & Storage
The device is equipped with 12 GB of memory, in one slot. This DDR4 SDRAM comes with a fairly high bandwidth of 2400 MHz which is enough for doing basic work on this laptop.
It will allow you to multitask with multiple tabs and apps open simultaneously. Depending on the model you choose, you may even be able to upgrade the RAM up to 16 GB.
This is enough for storing a lot of school projects and assignments, pictures, videos, music and a couple of games.
You will also have easier and faster access to the stored files and the apps will load pretty fast when run on this system.
Ports & Connectivity
It includes one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, two USB 2.0 Type A ports, one HDMI port, one USB 3.2 Type C Gen 1 port, a Multi-format SD card reader slot with SDHC and SDXC support, and one headphone/microphone combo jack.
In addition to that, the system also supports Bluetooth 4.1 technology for faster data transfer.
One of the biggest areas of the ASUS VivoBook 17 laptop is its power management. It needs some serious improvements since the 2-cell lithium polymer battery has a pretty average life, if not low.
Depending on the type of usage, this battery will last for 2 to 4 hours, at the most for regular use, and even less than that when you play games or stream videos from YouTube.
However, you may improve the battery life to some extent by reducing the brightness of the screen but there is no way it will last for more than 3 hours while gaming.
The ASUS VivoBook 17 laptop also comes with a few additional features to boost up its performance and the user experience as well at the same time.
There is a 720p or HD webcam integrated on the top bezel of the screen which, however, does not have a privacy shutter.
There is also a set of stereo speakers integrated in the system which produces average sound output being just 2 watts in power.
The system is shipped by the manufacturer with a one-year limited warranty of the components inside the chassis on specific terms and conditions. You can visit the website of the manufacturer to know more about it.

What Do Users Think About ASUS VivoBook 17 Laptop?
This system comes with a good enough processor and graphics that allows them to complete their jobs on it fast, offline or online.
The keyboard and trackpad of this laptop are quite good but they expected it to have a backlit keyboard. However, the separate numeric keypad in it made their job even easier.
It comes with a fair number of ports and connectivity options and the ireless support provided by this laptop is pretty strong.
The webcam is decent and the mics built in it are good enough, though analog, to allow making better and clearer video calls while taking online classes. However, the battery life of this system could have been much better, they felt.
All its specs are just fine to support all types of varied needs of the users, especially the larger screen.
At this price, they felt that this is a nice bargain though the quality of screen could have been much better, they suggested.
There were a few users who said that they are quite happy with their purchase, though this machine has its own drawbacks.
However, they said that these are just minor setbacks according to them which may not be universal.
For example, they wished that the system came with a privacy cover over the camera.
They also suggested that there were a few ports at the rear of the chassis. This would have allowed better cable management when all of them are used simultaneously, which they do quite often.
However, overall, they thought this machine packs a lot of power and performance for an affordable price. Check out Asus VivoBook 17 Manual.

According to Laptop Mag, this is a good device for students, teachers, professionals and home users for an affordable price. The hardware configuration is pretty good but it needs some uplift in its power management.
This laptop comes with a large screen with thin bezel but the quality of it could be better, feels Notebook Check. The HD+ resolution is just okay for basic jobs and games but not for professional editing jobs due to its limited color volume.
Expert Reviews feel that this laptop has almost everything in it to beat the others in the market and be a proper desktop replacement. The areas that hold it back from it are its audio output, weak plastic case, and non-backlit keyboard.
