Our Testing & Analysis Report

The processor of the Dell Optiplex 5050, though an Intel Core i7, was found to have a pretty average score when we tested its performance on different benchmarks.

On the PCMark 8 Work Conventional test, it scored about 3500 points overall, and on Cinebench R15 it scored 578 points.

The ratings according to Handbrake and Photoshop CS6 are just a bit over 1 minute and 3 minutes respectively.

We faced no problems in performing simple to moderate computing tasks on the system such as web browsing, watching movies on YouTube and Netflix at low resolutions, playing basic games at low settings, processing documents on Word and doing some accounting jobs on Excel.

The Processor also handled some basic to moderate photo and image editing tasks on Photoshop quite efficiently and we accomplished our tasks at a much faster rate as compared to other processors of similar kind in our database.

The integrated intel graphics, as usual, did not score high on our Heaven and Valley gaming benchmark tests.

It could render images at lower than 10 fps for games we played at high or ultra settings, around 30 to 40 fps when we played simpler games at relatively low settings, and less than that when the games were played at medium settings.

And on our 3DMark Cloud Gate and Free Strike Extreme tests, the scores of the GPU were found to be about 800 points and 450 points respectively.

With all these facts and figures, our technical team concluded that the Intel Core i7 7700 processor of this desktop computer is efficient enough, though not exceptional, to handle very high-end and professional computing tasks lacking support from other components in the system.

The same goes for its graphics performance.
