Benchmarks

CPU

1. According to CPU Benchmark, the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U has an average CPU Mark of 7081. The single thread rating of this quad-core processor is 1977. The experts analyzed 2466 samples of this processor and then they gave this processor an overall rank of 956.

This is a good processor and the users can get very smooth processing with any type of multitasking task. Nowadays there are many updated processors and the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U becomes slightly backdated. But you can find this processor in many moderate laptops.

2. According to UserBenchmark the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U has an average bench score of 51.8 %. This processor has ranked at 735th position among 1358 processors of this class. As a gaming processor, this chip has got a benchmark score of 52%.

And as a desktop processor, this score is 55% and it is 44% for the workstations. This is a good processor but not a trending product. This processor has good memory latency and single-core speed, but it lacks good multi-core processing speed.

3. On Geekbench 5, the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U has got a single core score of 709. Whereas, its multi-core score is 2484. These are decent scores, and these are better than that of AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, which is one of the closest competitors of the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U.

For the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, these scores are 682 and 2368. So this Lenovo laptop can deliver better performance than the HP Envy X360.

GPU

1. The AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 is the integrated graphics chip that is very frequently found in the Ryzen 7 APUs. On UserBenchmark, this GPU has got an average bench score of 10.5%.

The analyzers of this website have considered a total of 684 processors of this kind and among them; this one has taken 260th position. These scores are better than other integrated GPUs.

But you can’t expect very high-level performance from this kind of integrated graphics processor. This GPU is good for processing some basic-level graphical content.

You can rely on this GPU for photo editing or for playing some casual games with low graphical settings. But it is unable to process any high-end game or while doing high-end video editing, you can face hanging issues.

After comparing its performance with that of other integrated GPUs, we can say this is good; but it is not sufficient for gaming.

RAM and Storage

For a laptop, a user must get a decent amount of storage since it is not as expandable as a desktop.

Well, the storage on Lenovo Flex 14, let’s just say could be better. Check out best laptop brands.

It has a 256 GB SSD drive which is faster than a hard drive, but after storing the necessary system files we are sure that you would need to think about purchasing external storage options if your needs are not limited to use the laptop only at a place of business.

There are no complaints regarding the RAM as there is 12 GB of it present. There won’t be any need of expanding the RAM hopefully as it is enough for any sort of uses that you may have.

Still, it is good for use indoors. The color accuracy and coverage are much better than any average and cheaper touchscreen.

We also found that its viewing angles are reasonably good but not from the extremes. Talking about touch, this screen is quite responsive to touches, swipes, and taps.

The keyboard is quite good and comfortable to type on. The keys have good travel and tactility to allow faster typing with maximum accuracy. The fingerprint reader is also quite responsive, just like the relatively smaller trackpad, which is smooth and responsive.

While testing the CPU and GPU on different User Benchmark tests, we found that the processor is quite good with an average CPU Mark of 7081 and 709 according to Geekbench 5.

It allowed us to perform some basic productivity tasks as well as demanding tasks such as video editing on the system.

The GPU provides adequate support to the CPU and renders the images pretty significantly with an average G3D and G2D mark of 1586 and 419 respectively.

However, when we tried to play some demanding games, we found that both the CPU and the GPU were struggling.

While running the battery rundown test, we charged the battery to its full capacity and then unplugged the system to run some software and apps, worked on Word and Excel files, watched videos in a loop, and played some basic games at low display settings.

We found that it lasted for about 8 hours, which is pretty good to complete our day’s work.
