For casual users and multitasking users this computer is a very good option. The price of this product is also very reasonable and the unique design of it is an extra add-on.

Design & Build

The design of this Lenovo IdeaCentre 720 is quite unique and its overall outlook is quite good.

This product can be used in houses and can also be placed in any commercial place.

By observing this product from the outside, one can assume that the front panel of the chassis is made of aluminum, but actually, it is a plastic-made hardcover.

The chassis is very sleek and on the right side of the front panel, there is a shutter, under which all the USB ports and other input-output ports are placed.

This is the most unique thing in the design of this pre-build PC of Lenovo. On the front panel, one can also locate a slim optical drive that is mounted vertically.

Most of the USB ports and other useful ports are located on the rare side of the chassis.

One can notice that the VGA port and the HDMI port slots of this PC are covered up with rubber; this is mainly because the system doesn’t possess any integrated graphics.

Silver is the most common color on which this desktop is easily available. On the side panel of the chassis, there are some ventilation vents.

The users will not face plenty of hurdles to get access to the interior section of the cabinet. It is a very easy process.

The users only need to untie the two thumbscrews with the help of a simple screwdriver.

Every component that is placed inside the chassis is replaceable and easily upgradable and to do so, the users don’t need any additional tools.

In comparison to its rival PCs, this product is quite less heavy and compact. This PC can easily be fitted on a regular desktop desk.

Lenovo IdeaCentre 720 features a quite powerful and efficient AMD processor that is almost equivalent to the Intel Core i5-7500 and available at quite less price than this Intel processor.

The AMD Ryzen 5 2600 which is present in this device, is a great competitor to the Intel Core i5-7500, even in some situations this AMD processor offers quite better performance.

As a father figure, Intel always rules the industry but, slowly it’s losing its grip from it, as such processors of AMD are offering quite sustainable performance at a comparatively less price.

This AMD Ryzen 5 2600, is a Hexa core processor. This 2nd generation processor of AMD always offers a groundbreaking and stable performance.

It has multithreaded processing technology that helps it to process faster and this blazingly fast performance.

In such a way this processor becomes the most suitable and affordable processor for the users of this generation.

The users can experience a smooth and efficient performance from this processor while playing an easy to moderate game and by using it, they can smoothly perform multitasking tasks.

Having 12 GB RAM, the device has very decent responsiveness. 3.4 GHz is the average clocking speed of this processor.

The processor has enough capability to smoothly handle any CPU-oriented tasks and in any critical situation, it acts very smartly and protects the system from any serious losses.

AMD Radeon RX 560 is present in this computer as its GPU. This graphics card makes the computer more powerful and productive.

This GPU can smoothly run any HD content but it is insufficient to run 4K games or videos.

By using this device the users can run contents up to 1080 pixels or can smoothly stream on any platform.

To use Roblox, this device is a good and affordable option. The combination of this graphics card and the processor is very perfect to offer a very stable, balanced, and powerful outcome.

This product of Lenovo runs on Windows 10 Home operating system and this OS is pre-installed in it.

Storage & RAM

We all know, to cope with the speed of this generation every desktop should have an SSD. But unfortunately, this desktop lacks an SSD.

The company doesn’t attach any SSD to it, to avail it at a reasonable price. It comes with an HDD of 2TB.

This storage capacity is enough for storing various large data.

But the booting time, data transferring speed of the computer are not promising; such problems can only be solved by using an SSD.

This ‎Serial ATA hard disk runs with 7200 RPM speed. The motherboard that is present in this desktop doesn’t have any additional slot to attach SSD in the chassis.

So, to attach an SSD, the users need either to replace the HDD with an SSD, or they have to remove the optical drive, and in its place, they can install an SSD.

12 GB Dual Channel DDR4 RAM is used in this computer. The motherboard supports up to 32 GB of RAM.

So, the users can upgrade the capacity of the RAM in the future and its upgradation process is also very simple.

Ports & Connectivity

Being a full tower PC, this Lenovo IdeaCentre 720 has plenty of USB ports. At the front side of the chassis, there are 2 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports.

These ports are really very helpful while attaching many pen drives or any external peripherals.

There is also a 7-in-1 card reader and two audio ports. At the rare side of the chassis, one can locate 4 USB 2.0 ports, 3 audio ports, Gigabit LAN RJ45 port, VGA port, HDMI-out port, etc.

This product of Lenovo is compatible with 802.11 AC Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth 4.0 version.

Additional Features

The Achilles’ heel of this desktop is its PSU. The PSU of this PC is 250 Watt and it has very few connectors.

In most of the desktops of this generation, a standard 24-pin ATX connector is used but here in this PC of Lenovo, an exceptional connector is used.

The PSU of the PC connects the motherboard with a specific Lenovo 10-pin connector, which is not easily available in the market.

For this specific connector, the GPU upgrading facility of this device is also very limited.

For cooling purposes, the manufacturers use standard cooling fans in this computer.

These cooling fans are located on the graphics card and on the CPU’s heat sink. As this desktop has only two fans, it can’t make a huge noise.

But having only two fans, the users can face heating issues very frequently. A standard warranty of one year is also present with this product.

What Do Users Think About Lenovo IdeaCentre 720?

This desktop is a perfect option for these casual users who search for an affordable, decent performing pre-built desktop with plenty of USB ports.

The gamers should avoid this Lenovo PC as its cooling system is not very advanced.

For performing various multitasking jobs in various business houses this product is a very good option.

This PC is quite backdated for this decade of the twenty-first century. Now it is considered as a very basic level desktop.

For beginners, this product is a great option.
