This laptop is equipped with Intel Core i5-8265U processor. It is a quad-core processor.

The base clock frequency of it is 1.6 GHz and it has 6 MB cache memory.

The processor is good for casual computing but it is not able to run high end games.

For enhancing its graphical ability, the company has attached Intel UHD 620 as its GPU.

It also offers decent performance. But it is unable to handle 4K contents.

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit is the OS on which this PC runs and it is preinstalled in this product.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X390 is equipped with Intel Core i5-8265U. The single core score of this processor as of 9th September 2022, is 720. And the multi-core score of this quad-core chip is 2272.

Based on the single core scores, we can conclude that the Intel Core i5 8265U is a better option than the Intel Core i5 8365U and it is not as powerful as the Intel Core i7-8665U.

So we can conclude that performance-wise the Intel Core i5-8265U doesn’t come in the high-end processor segment. But it can process various casual tasks with great speed and accuracy. For a basic or moderate-level laptop, this chip is a great option.

2. According to CPU Benchmarks, the Intel core i5 8365U has an average CPU mark of 6081 ( as of 9th September 2022 ). Its single thread rating is 2114. After analyzing a total of 2319 samples, the experts have found that the margin of error in the quad-core intel processor is low.

The overall rank of this processor is 1111. Based on these data we can say this is not a very powerful processor to tackle the huge workloads of this era. But it is better than the Intel Core i7 7700HQ (which has an average thread rating of 2075).

The Intel core i5 8365U has a good CPU value i.e. 12.16. So we can consider this processor as a good value for money product.

3. On the UserBenchmark, The Intel Core i5 8265U has an average bench score of 63.2% as of 9th September 2022. Among 1358 processors of the similar category, this one has taken the 487th position.

The processor has got a benchmark score of 63% as a gaming processor. When it is used on a normal desktop, then this score is 69 and it is 50% for workstations. So this is a moderate processor; good for regular casual computing.


The Lenovo ThinkPad X390 comes with an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 chip. The average G3D mark of this integrated graphics card is 1034. The average G2D mark GPU is 246.

And the experts of this website have tested a total of 14041 samples of this graphics chip and then they have given it an overall rank of 850. This is a very basic level graphics card which is capable of processing only various types of HD videos.

The gamers should not rely on this integrated GPU. The video editors will not also be happy with the performance of this GPU.
