MSI Aegis RS 10SE-011US Desktop Review
Buy For: Robust Performance│Value-for-money features
Beware Of: Some prominent flaws such as PCIe Gen 3
The MSI Aegis RS 10 SE U11US is indeed one of the best pre-built options we have seen that offers decent performance without charging too much from the buyer. Although, if you crave the best GPU performance then waiting for the RTX 3000 series would be preferred.
Design and Build
With so many high-end components inside, it would be natural to want to flaunt them.
Well, it seems that MSI knows this, and hence they have used a very alluring case for the Aegis RS 10.
The front portion is divided vertically into two parts, one of which is covered and has the MSI logo on it. The three RGB radiator fans are visible through the other.
There is a similar RGB fan at the back as well. One side of the case is covered with a glass panel that shows what’s running this machine and also gives easy access to them.
You need not open too many screws for maintenance or upgrades.
However, don’t let the presence of RGB fans divert your attention from the custom cooling system fitted inside.
But this is an optional feature so make sure you check it before buying.
The entire rig has LED lighting on the inside that you can easily activate and control at the touch of a button.
Now the Aegis RS 10 is stout in these two aspects especially, while the other specs are equally impressing.
The variant here has a Core i9-10900KF processor that has a base clock rate of 3.7 GHz, but the cores can be boosted up to 5.3 GHz.
These cores support hyper-threading as well, and thus even though physically only 10 are present, you get the power of 20.
With a 20 MB cache, this is, in fact, one of the best CPUs from Intel for the consumers. However, the Ryzen competition performs better, but only slightly.
The CPU is an overclockable one, and the Z490 motherboard used would give you enough scope to push the PC to its limits, without making any changes to the hardware.
Next, there is the RTX 2080 Super GPU that has got 8 gigs of VRAM of its own so that you can utilize the computing power of the CPU and play games, create 3D models, perform 4K editing, and so on.
A GPU upgrade would also allow you to comfortably learn some basic AI development, although the PC isn’t specifically built for this purpose.
But since most people would prefer the 1080p or the 1440p limit at most, we aren’t going in the details much.
Make no wrong assumptions about its performance, as it can provide 60 fps on even the highest settings, and given the other specs, you would be able to stream the game online.
You would also have a better gaming experience with VR and ray-tracing activated.
There are tons of other things that the PC would be able to achieve and several other kinds of software that you can use.
The TDP of the processor is 125W, but no worries as a 750W PSU has been provided by default.
But the total power consumption would be on the higher side since there aren’t any integrated graphics and as a result of which, the GPU would need to be used constantly.
As long as you aren’t making a severe upgrade, it should be enough to run the system even when the CPU and GPU are working hard at the same time.
These numbers are way different when you overclock the system, and that is also a reason why you might have to upgrade the PSU.
This is one of the few devices that can benefit both content creators and gamers, given you choose the right variant for your use.
For heavier workloads, for example, it would be better to opt for the liquid-cooled version.
Also, there are lower versions that start from 10th gen i7 CPUs and some lower specs and thus a lower price tag, that are worthy of being considered too.
The pre-installed Windows 10 OS provides you with an ever friendly interface to work or play on.
Storage and RAM
The SSD is of 1 TB, and even with system files and other software installed in it, you might have some space left.
In case you don’t, you can use the 2 TB space on the hard drive. Also, there is a spare slot to add an SSD.
The machine is already having 32 GB of RAM operating at 3000 MHz. You may even expand it if you need to, using any of the four RAM slots.
Ports and Connectivity
There are many USB ports present on it, divided between the front and back sides.
At the front, you have 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and another USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. The headphone/mic combo slot is also present here.
At the back you get:
- A USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port
- A USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port
- 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports
- 2 USB 2.0 ports
- A PS/2 combo port
The lighting on the rig can be controlled by using the MSI switch that allows 60 different lighting effects.
Some customization is also possible through the Dragon Centre software that gives the user access to other aspects of the system like the BIOS, CPU, and so on.
The rig comes with optional gaming peripherals and hence you get a Clutch GM11 gaming mouse and a VIGOR GK30 gaming keyboard.
The mouse has got multiple advantages while gaming, while the keyboard is an RGB backlit one.
It is a complete package if you choose so, and all that you need is a gaming monitor.
A warranty of 1 year has been provided.

What Do Users Think about MSI Aegis RS 10SE-011US Desktop?
Those who were genuinely interested in utilizing the power of the latest Core i9 CPUs are the majority of the buyers.
The powerful CPU and GPU combination allowed them to use the PC for various tasks. Unless they didn’t require a workstation, it was more than sufficient.
There was enough scope to upgrade the PC as well, and the spare SSD, RAM slots came handy.
With dual storage options in this variant, they could not only create hundreds of projects but also saved them in this machine itself for future use.
The overclockers were also among those satisfied buyers since the PC has got a liquid cooling option.
Since overclocking requires better quality of cooling, the PC didn’t have to be upgraded with further cooling facilities before doing so.
However, some have complaints regarding the short warranty period and availability of the variants.
But other than this, there aren’t any such notable flaws reported by the users.
Those who bought it very recently were slightly disappointed since better GPUs are available at the same price, but that is not any fault of this device itself.
Moreover, the gaming accessories that it comes with, was decent for an average gamer, and hence, they didn’t need to buy those from elsewhere.
There are gaming PCs that come with good peripherals but those provided with this device seemed to be better than most others.
