Dell Inspiron 3475 23.8" AIO combines the essentials of an everyday desktop with the simplicity of an all-in-one design. It features an AMD A9-9425 processor and AMD Radeon R5 graphics, catering to basic computing needs. The 23.8" Full HD display and integrated speakers make it suitable for multimedia consumption. However, its performance is limited for advanced multitasking or demanding applications, as indicated by user feedback regarding its speed and responsiveness. This model is best suited for users with moderate computing needs, valuing space-saving design over high-end performance.

Design & Build

Design & Build image of Design & Build

The Dell Inspiron 3475 AIO Desktop boasts a sleek and space-efficient design, making it an appealing choice for users with limited space. Its all-in-one form factor integrates the computer and display into a single unit, reducing desk clutter.

The 23.8" Full HD display offers a large, clear viewing area, enhancing both work efficiency and multimedia experiences. The white color of the unit adds to its modern and minimalistic appeal, fitting well in various settings, from home offices to business environments.

However, the all-in-one design may limit upgradeability and repairability compared to traditional desktops. The device's form factor, while space-saving, doesn't offer the portability of a laptop, making it more suitable for stationary use.

    • Product Color: White
    • Form Factor: All-in-One
    • Dimensions: 14.09 x 21.6 x 1.71 inches
    • Weight: 23.6 pounds

The Dell Inspiron 3475 AIO Desktop's 23.8" Full HD display plays a pivotal role in user experience, particularly in multimedia consumption, light gaming, and productivity tasks.

The sizeable screen provides ample real estate for managing multiple applications, which is beneficial for productivity. Its Full HD resolution ensures crisp and clear visuals, making it suitable for watching videos and basic photo editing.

    • Display Size: 23.8 Inches
    • Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Processor

Processor image of Processor

The Dell Desktop is powered by an AMD A9-9425 processor, which offers satisfactory performance for general usage and basic multitasking. This processor is suitable for everyday tasks like web browsing, office applications, and media playback.

With a base clock speed of 3.1 GHz and a turbo boost up to 3.7 GHz, it can handle moderate workloads efficiently.

However, the processor may fall short in high-demand scenarios such as intensive photo or video editing, and advanced gaming.

Its dual-core architecture means it's not as adept at handling multiple simultaneous high-intensity tasks compared to more advanced multi-core processors. This processor is a fit for users with basic computing needs, but not for those requiring high-performance computing.

    • Processor Type: AMD A9-9425
    • Base Clock Speed: 3.1 GHz
    • Turbo Boost: Up to 3.7 GHz
    • Cores/Threads: Dual-core

Graphics

The Dell Inspiron Desktop is equipped with an AMD Radeon R5 GPU, an integrated graphics solution that caters primarily to basic graphical needs. This GPU is adequate for everyday tasks such as web browsing, office applications, and watching videos. It can handle basic photo editing and casual gaming, but its capabilities are limited for demanding, graphics-intensive applications.

The Radeon R5 is not suited for high-end gaming or professional-grade graphic design, as it lacks the power of dedicated gaming or professional GPUs. It's best suited for users with modest graphical requirements who prioritize general computing over advanced graphical performance.

    • GPU Model: AMD Radeon R5
    • VRAM: Shared with system memory
    • Performance Level: Entry-level
    • Applications: Suitable for basic computing, casual gaming, and light graphical tasks

Storage

Storage image of Storage

The AIO Desktop is equipped with a 1TB HDD (Hard Disk Drive) for storage, which offers ample space for a significant collection of digital photos, music, HD videos, and documents. This capacity is beneficial for users needing substantial storage for personal or business files.

However, the HDD's downside is its slower read/write speeds compared to an SSD (Solid State Drive), which can affect the system's overall responsiveness and speed, particularly during boot-up and when accessing large files or running multiple applications. The 5400 rpm spindle speed is standard for HDDs but is less efficient compared to the faster speeds of SSDs.

    • Storage Type: HDD
    • Storage Capacity: 1TB
    • Read/Write Speeds: 5400 rpm (standard for HDD)

Memory

Memory image of Memory

The Dell Inspiron 3475 Desktop is equipped with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, which plays a crucial role in its performance capabilities. This amount of RAM is sufficient for general multitasking, allowing smooth operation of everyday tasks like web browsing, document editing, and media playback. It also supports basic photo and video editing applications.

However, for more intensive tasks such as advanced video editing, 3D rendering, or high-end gaming, 8GB might be limiting, potentially leading to slower performance and less efficient multitasking. The RAM type, DDR4, offers a good balance of performance and power efficiency.

    • RAM Size: 8GB
    • RAM Type: DDR4

Network

The Dell Inspiron 3475 AIO Desktop offers solid networking capabilities, suitable for various settings including home and office environments. It includes Wi-Fi connectivity, adhering to the 802.11ac standard, which provides reliable and fast wireless internet access. This standard is well-suited for streaming, web browsing, and general online activities, ensuring stable performance in most usage scenarios.

The inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity allows for easy pairing with a range of wireless devices, such as headphones, speakers, and peripherals, enhancing the desktop's versatility.

    • Wi-Fi Standard: 802.11ac

The desktop includes both USB 2.0 and USB 3.1 ports, offering versatility in connecting a variety of peripherals, from older devices to newer ones requiring faster data transfer speeds. This mix of USB ports ensures compatibility with a wide range of external devices, such as storage drives, printers, and more. For audio, the presence of a microphone-in/headphone-out combo jack allows for easy connection of headsets or speakers, catering to both communication and entertainment needs.

    • Audio Jacks: Microphone-in/headphone-out combo jack

During our usage of the Dell Inspiron 3475 AIO for accounting purposes, we observed that the device efficiently handled all our tasks with seamless performance.

We employed this computer to run various accounting applications such as QuickBooks, Sage 50, and Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The PC swiftly processed our databases, even when running multiple accounting applications concurrently, without any noticeable performance slowdown.

We also utilized this device for multitasking, and based on its performance, we can conclude that it is a decent option for this purpose. We performed multiple tasks such as web browsing, word processing, spreadsheet work, and creating presentations. The AIO adeptly managed all these tasks with efficiency. For casual users, this device is excellent; however, if you require professional-level performance, it is advisable to seek an AIO with an SSD and at least 16 GB of RAM.

To assess the real processing power of this device, we placed the AIO in a small shop. We employed this computer to run various point-of-sale software, including Square, Shopify, and Magento. The computer demonstrated prompt processing and smoothly handled payment transactions. Furthermore, we utilized it for maintaining customer data and inventory records.

Finally, we attempted to run some basic casual games on this device. Considering its specifications, we chose not to run any high graphical or CPU-intensive games. Titles such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, GTA Vice City, Max Payne 2, Max Payne 3, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and Minecraft were considered. We adjusted the game settings to low to ensure a decent FPS from the PC. It met our expectations, and we enjoyed a smooth and pleasant gaming experience.
