Our Testing & Analysis Report

During our testing of the Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5, we ran various programs like Google Photos and Adobe Lightroom and found that the Core i3 processor handled tasks admirably.

It didn’t cause the computer to become sluggish or slow down. The laptop exhibited good performance even when handling slightly heavier apps like Android apps or multiple Chrome tabs.

In fact, it outperformed an Intel Core i5 Acer Spin 713 with an SSD. However, when running heavier apps or using Linux, the laptop’s performance may slightly decline.

In terms of its different modes of operation, we discovered that using the laptop as a tablet was quite convenient.

However, when using it in tablet mode, its reasonably larger screen and weight of nearly 3 pounds made it somewhat awkward to flip through web pages, particularly in tent mode.

When watching movies such as “The Harder” on Netflix, we were impressed by the Lenovo Flex 5’s display quality.

It provided crisp images with reasonably vivid colors. As the film primarily featured a Black cast, it allowed us to assess the laptop’s performance based on skin tones and hues.

Regarding the audio system, we didn’t expect it to be a “boom box,” and it wasn’t. While listening to “Dinero” by Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B, we experienced mid-range tones. We found that using a pair of headphones offered a much better audio experience.

We also conducted a 10FastFingers typing test and found the combined results from different individuals in our office to be quite satisfactory.

The keyboard handled approximately 88 words per minute with about 93% accuracy. The touchpad was also responsive and supported two-finger gestures.

The processor and integrated graphics card proved to be capable of handling work on Google Docs or Google Chrome without any lag or issues.

According to the Geekbench 5.0 benchmark, the Flex 5 achieved a fairly high score, surpassing certain types of Chromebooks such as the HP x2 with a Snapdragon 7c or the Asus Chromebook CX 9 with an i7.
