Whether you use Word for your day-to-day household jobs or Excel or QuickBooks for your office accounts, it has all the power and ability to handle them all most efficiently, making it one of the most reliable convertible laptops.
You can rely on the functionality of this machine whether you use it for basic computing or advanced, and even play some common games on it.
The system has passed through several inspection processes to ensure that it is reliable and efficient enough to run all relevant software and apps that you need for your work, as well as all those accessories that you may want to connect to it.
As for the looks of this unit, it is designed for those users who want to look different while carrying it or working on it.
Minimalist yet appealing, the chassis includes a powerful processor and a dedicated graphics card that ensures a high level of performance and productivity.
The system comes with a large number of useful features that make it all the more dependable.
It is also thin and light in its build which will allow you to carry it wherever you want to and not have to work confined to your office or home desk.
The system comes with a unique hinge design. This allows you to flip the screen up to 360 degrees so that you can easily select the way you want to use this system.
However, the brightness of the screen is quite good but does not seem to be good enough to deal with the glare off its glass panel.
This may get into the way when you use it outside your office or under bright lights.
It can easily be said that this specific model of Lenovo Flex is much better and more productive and reliable than the previous generations.
It is extremely and extraordinarily adaptable to the situations and needs of the users.

Lenovo Flex 5 2-in-1 Laptop Review
Buy for: Good screen with thin bezel, good HD webcam, convertible design, fast performance, adequate SSD storage.
Beware of: Poor cooling solution, heavy and big for a tablet, No Thunderbolt 3, occasional issues with screen and start up in standby mode.
The Lenovo Flex 5 2-in-1 laptop is for those who want to stay productive with their home or business computing tasks. All its powerful hardware components and design elements come in a thin and light chassis that makes it extremely portable. Apart from the average battery life, you will hardly find anything major to complain about this system that will allow you to stay productive.
Design and Build
It is the design that sets this system apart from the others with features like the strong and flexible 360 degrees hinge movement that will allow you to transform the laptop into two other different modes, according to your preference and usage needs, apart from a tablet.
You can use this thinner and lighter device in the stand or a tent mode as well.
The hinge also enables you to get the keyboard out of the way to focus on the screen only during presentations.
This convertible laptop comes with a 15.6-inch screen, which is quite large enough to allow you to see the images and texts clearly on it which are exhibited at 16:9 aspect ratio.
The end-to-end narrow bezel offers a larger screen real estate to work on this full HD 10-point touchscreen directly.
The IPS panel of this screen offers a wider viewing angle and the LED backlight saves sufficient energy as well during the process.
The keyboard of this system is built to last long and the solid keys come with backlights that allow comfortable and accurate typing in even a lowly lit setting.
The design of this keyboard allows you to set the brightness of the backlights of the keys and even turn it off when you do not want it or want to save energy.
All you have to do is press Function and Space Bar together, once to make it brighter, twice to turn it off.
Though the keyboard does not come with a separate 10-key numeric keypad due to its small design, which may cause a bit of a hindrance when you want to make some fast data entry into your QuickBooks or Excel spreadsheet.
It has quite a decent key travel and feedback to ensure you have a higher and better typing experience with extreme precision.
However, if you want to have a desktop type experience and not use the small keyboard built in, then the system design allows you to hook up an external keyboard and mouse via the ports.
The trackpad of the system is not very wide as you will find in most of the laptops today but is large and responsive enough to touches and gestures.
It is also located at the center, just below the space bar, much unlike most of the laptops today that come with an off-center trackpad that causes some inconvenience while typing.
However, the design of the air vents could have been better. Since these are located at the bottom of the base, the system tends to get hot easily when used over a cloth or flat surface since the vents are blocked.
The hot air seems to reflect from the screen making the keyboard hot in the process as well.
The material used to build this machine keeps its weight light giving it extreme portability. The body is made out of aluminum metal, which is light, but do not expect it to be as strong as a MacBook.
The latest Intel Core i7 8550U processor belongs to the 8th generation and can deal with almost all types of computing tasks.
It operates at a base clock speed of 1.80 GHz and you can even enhance it up to 4.0 GHz with Turbo Boost technology to make the four cores and eight threads of the processor with 8 MB smart cache process the data even faster.
It has a 4GT/s bus speed and a TDP ranging between 10 W and 25 W with an average of 15 W with 2 GHz and 800 MHz TDP up and down frequency respectively.
The dedicated Nvidia GeForce 940 MX 2GB graphics card comes with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory of its own and gets adequate support from the processor.
It has the power and ability to produce images fast without any screen tears and lags to provide you with a better viewing pleasure.
This series of Nvidia GeForce graphics cards is specially designed for laptops to offer a premium experience.
It can operate at a speed four times faster than the previous versions to enhance the graphics performance of the system on the whole.
The Windows 10 operating system is also very useful in navigating and performing all your computing tasks most easily, securely and quickly.
Its features and built-in capabilities will even allow your IT department, if you have any, to use MDM or Mobile Device Management software for a more secure and better control while running the operating system.
The familiar Start Menu which is reinstated, Continuum that allows you to toggle automatically between keyboard and touchscreen.
Microsoft Edge that allows you to markup websites directly, Cortana for voice commands, and other authentication technologies ensure better performance when you use traditional desktop management software as well.
RAM & Storage
The 16 GB DDR4 memory of the system is at par today’s standards and will allow you to multitask smoothly with several tabs and apps open at the same time, thanks to its 2400 MHz bandwidth.
This NVMe, super-fast Solid-State Drive storage enhances the overall performance level of the system. The good thing about its design is that you will have room for an extra SSD drive.
Ports & Connectivity
For a better listening pleasure, you can use your own headphone through the headphone out and microphone in combo jack.
You will also get Bluetooth support from the system to connect your Bluetooth enabled headphones and other devices as well.
While most of the laptops today come with an all-day battery life, and even more, this system lacks in this specific area.
The lithium polymer battery included in the system, comes with only 3 cells and a 52.5 watt-hour capacity.
Though it is advertised that it will provide you with power for 9 hours or so, that too with minimum power settings, you should not expect anything more than 5 to 6 hours of power on an average for mixed usage.
There is a fingerprint reader integrated in the system design that is good and responsive enough to allow you an easier and faster access to the system without requiring you to type in the password every time you want to wake your system up from sleep mode.
The machine also has a 720p HD webcam which helps in video calls and chatting. It can take clear pictures since it is located at the center of the top bezel of the screen.
The webcam, however, is not extraordinary in performance and is only good for business meetings and online classes.

What Do Users Think about Lenovo Flex 5 2-in-1 laptop?
This is a nice alternative to any traditional mainstream laptop, said a lot of users. It is good for home and office jobs, as well as for entertainment.
However, the tablet seems to be a bit larger than a standalone model which is quite a bit of a bother.
Otherwise, this is much better a convertible than others offered by Lenovo at a bargain price.
This is certainly not the flashiest of 2-in-1 laptops available on the market and does not have a lot of bells and whistles, but it surely provides the desired bang for the buck with its high level of performance, they said.
The build of this large multimedia notebook is solid and provides a better and larger tablet experience, said some other users.
The good things about this laptop include its beautiful and large enough touch display, good and solid backlit keyboard, and storage expansion.
Though the screen quality and battery life are expected to come up a little, this is not an entirely bad machine to invest on.
It fulfills every promise and meets all the needs of the users and is technically a perfect laptop for office and business computation jobs using specific accounting software such as QuickBooks.
With a discrete graphics card and adequate RAM and a fast NVMe SSD storage, this device is an all-rounder when it comes to performance, price and productivity, said a major part of the users surveyed.
It seems to have all those features that are expected in a modern laptop. There is a fast processor belonging to the 8th generation, a large enough and full HD touchscreen, and a sleek and solid chassis.
However, the battery life and selection of ports should have been better, they suggested.
The monitor seems to have a bit of a problem in starting up from the standby mode, as pointed out by a few users.
Though nothing major to be considered as a deal breaker, it surely annoyed them a bit.
As for the other aspects of this laptop, they were pretty happy at the fact that this system boots up pretty fast almost in less than 10 seconds, the set up is really easy, the McAfee antivirus installed is pretty good, and the apps run very fast.
Even basic games can be played on it without needing to change the settings. Check out Flex 5 Manual.
The fingerprint reader is fast and speedy, the touch screen is quite good and responsive, the build is solid and the performance of this laptop is very good, a few users pointed out.
However, the fans that become noisy at times under heavy load are annoying, just as the average battery life of this device.
Apart from these drawbacks, this is a great laptop for its higher price-performance ratio.
It is comfortable to use, hinges are solid, and the graphics card can be tweaked in BIOS to enable virtualization.
There are also a few junkware that needs to be cleansed, they said. The audio quality is just about average and they also experienced a few glitches here and there.
However, it is a fast and reasonably priced machine, making it a good enough system for an upgrade, though a separate numeric keypad is desirable, they said.

According to PC World, this device is quite a decent one to possess. It promises a high level and fast performance. However, as a tablet, it seems to be overly large and seriously needs some more fans to make the powerful parts work better.
As per Notebook Check, this is an affordable convertible laptop but is not as flexible as it should be. However, it looks and feels great considering the price point, but they suggest that Lenovo needs to work on its somewhat dim display.
CNET, on the other hand, says that this is a great laptop to use for both productivity and entertainment. It is highly adaptable and has a great build quality. However, the battery life needs to be more, they feel.
