This is the top variant, while cheaper options are starting from about $1,000 that you may also consider if you need a low powered system. Talking about power, this variant has a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, partnered by an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU and 16 GB of RAM.

Centaurus Andromeda A4 Gaming Desktop Review

Centaurus Andromeda A4 Gaming Desktop

Buy For: Decent Performance

Beware Of: Lesser customizations since this is a pre-built desktop

Verdict

The Centaurus Andromeda A4 Gaming Computer is one for the gamer who doesn’t want to get involved in building a PC. The features are worthy of the price tag, and there haven’t been any major complaints either. But the storage being limited, you might want to consider buying an external storage drive. Overall, there are a few minor improvements that were needed.

Design and Build

Though pre-built, the PC is one of the highly customized ones. So you get an RGB case with mesh design at the front, along with glowing RGB cooling fans.

The tempered glass at the side provides you easy access to the components.

The case in use has enough air flow so you won’t need to stop using the PC to cool down your system once in a while.

The power button is at the top along with some ports. What are those? You will know soon enough.

Performance

When every last ounce of performance from a given processor is needed to be squeezed out, the enthusiasts often resort to overclocking.

This has already been done by Centaurus in this PC and as a result, you get the highest clock rate of 4.0 GHz out-of-the box.

You can still boost it to 4.2 GHz. The 6 core Ryzen 5 3600 CPU also supports hyperthreading so the PC has a lot of potential.

Then, the RX 5700 XT is one of the best GPUs that you can buy and provides a comfortable VR and 4K experience.

There is 16 GB of RAM that you can expand further. The installed Operating System is Windows 10 Pro.

Storage and RAM

The storage you get is of 1 TB on the SSD drive, and the GPU is of 8 GB.

The RAM, a DDR4 kind, functions at 3000 MHz. There is 16 GB of it installed, and this can be increased to 64 GB.

Dual-channel memory is supported, and whether to use it is at your discretion.

Ports and Connectivity

At the front, you have two USB 3.1 ports, and two other ports for connecting a headphone and a mic.

At the back, you get 4 more USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports.

A USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A and another Type-C port can also be found. For a keyboard/mouse, the age-old PS/2 is present.

There is also DVI, HDMI, and a DisplayPort for adding more monitors to your setup.

You may add more storage drives as there are 4 SATA ports and 2 M.2 SSD slots. Then you have 3 PCIe slots and 3 ports for audio output too.

The PC supports Bluetooth and 802.11n WIFI but neither is available internally.

You will need adapters for both. An RJ-45 port allows your Ethernet connection.

Additional Features

The PC has a warranty of 3 years. A keyboard and a mouse come in the packaging, but you need to buy a monitor separately.

With some configuration, you may activate the 7.1 HD audio for better audio quality.

What Do Users Think about Centaurus Andromeda A4?

The users were very satisfied with the performance of the PC.

There are very few PCs in this price range with so many different variants to choose from that provide such a tough competition to build-ups.

There were complaints regarding the ports at the top.

But since the after-sales customer service was also found to be supportive, it wasn’t such a big issue.
